A master set tracker for the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Something wrong, or an idea?

Email is the fastest way to reach me. If you're reporting a problem, the Report a Problem button in the app's Settings pre-fills your app version and device model, which makes it much easier to work out what happened.

Common questions

The grid is empty and everything says 0%

Open Settings and tap Discover all Pokémon. This downloads the card catalogue and takes about ten seconds on Wi-Fi. Until then the app doesn't know which cards exist, so every Pokémon shows a dash rather than a misleading zero.

What counts as a "printing"?

A card can exist in several finishes — normal, reverse holo, 1st edition, and various stamped promo versions. Master set collectors treat each as a separate card to find, so MasterSet counts them separately. That's why a Pokémon can have 125 cards but 149 printings.

A card is missing, or has the wrong artist or image

Card data comes from TCGdex, an open-source community database. If something is wrong there it will be wrong in the app too. You can report data issues directly to them via their GitHub, or email me and I'll pass it on.

A printing I own isn't listed

Stamped promos, error cards and regional oddities often aren't in any public database. Open the card and tap Add a printing to create it yourself — there are presets for the common stamps. It'll count toward your completion like any other.

The price looks wrong on a stamped or graded card

Market prices are quoted for the plain card, so a Worlds-stamped or slabbed copy shows the base card's value. Open the card, tap the sliders next to the printing you own, and set Your value. That overrides the market price in your collection total.

My collection didn't appear on my other device

Both devices need to be signed in to the same iCloud account with iCloud enabled for MasterSet. First sync can take a minute. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server I control — your collection lives in your own private iCloud database.

How do I get my data out?

Settings → Export collection as CSV. It's plain text and opens in any spreadsheet. You can import it back with the button below it, and importing the same file twice is harmless.

Will resetting delete my collection?

Yes. Resetting a Pokémon, or resetting everything, permanently deletes what you've marked as owned — on all your devices. Export a CSV first if there's any chance you'll want it back.
